GMVRS Assists First Baptist Church of Manassas in Support of Kids Against Hunger Mission
On Saturday, September 17th, 2022, member of both the Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad (GMVRS) and Squad Auxiliary (GMVRSA) assisted the First Baptist Church of Manassas with their “Kids Against Hunger” mission project at the Hutton Hall and Event Center at the Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad. In the span of approximately 4 hours, over 20,000 bags of rice and vegetable meals were prepared and boxed by the volunteers to be sent by the church to support relief efforts in Haiti.
If you haven’t heard of this organization, Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit humanitarian organization with a mission to provide fully nutritious food to impoverished children and families around the world…and around the corner. The goal of the organization is for the meals to provide a stable nutritional base from which recipient families can move their families from starvation or food insecurity to self-sufficiency (Kids Against Hunger, 2022).
