All ambulances are dual-role ALS and BLS certified and based on a common design specification to ensure a uniform equipment and supply layout. Each ambulance has a Stryker PowerCot, and from 521D on, are being fitted with the Stryker PowerLoad system to ensure safe loading and unloading of patients. All ambulances carry LifePak 15 monitors to measure heart rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, heart rhythm (via 4-lead and 12-lead ECG), respirations, and CO2 levels via waveform capnography. The monitors can also be used as AEDs and manual defibrillators and are capable of synchronized cardioversion and cardiac pacing. Each ambulance carries an e600 Ventilator (made by O-Two Medical Technologies) to assist ALS providers in managing the airway and breathing of critically sick or injured patients.

Additionally, we carry the McGrath “MAC” video laryngoscope to assist ALS providers in endotracheal intubation, particularly in cases of difficult airways. We also carry RSI (Rapid Sequence Intubation) drugs on each ambulance for RSI-endorsed providers to use for rapid and aggressive airway management in critically sick or injured patients.
