CPR Information

The Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad provides a varity of CPR, AED, and First Aid classes to the public and medical providers at our station. Dates for our upcoming class can be found on our training calendar. If interested in a class, please send an email to trainingofficer@gmvrs.org.



Citizens Heartsaver CPR and AED:
Course Length: 3.5 to 4 hours
Cost: $50.00 per person

This course provides basic CPR skills training with instruction and practice in using an AED. The course is intended lay persons who may need to respond to an emergency in the workplace and family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac arrest. This course covers adult CPR/AED with and without a mask, adult choking, child and infant CPR/AED and child choking. Students must pass a skills and written test to qualify for a Heartsaver CPR/AED Course Completion Card.


Healthcare Provider CPR:
Course Length: 4 to 4.5 hours
Cost: $50.00 per person

This course is designed to provide a wide variety of certified and non-certified, licensed and non-licensed, healthcare professionals with the skills to keep people alive until they can be brought to a hospital or be treated with more advanced lifesaving measures. This course is intended for physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, first responders such as firefighters and police, as well as laypeople whose who brings them in contact with members of the public, such as school, fitness centers, day care centers, hotel and restaurant employees. This course covers adult and pediatric CPR/AED, two-rescuer scenarios and use of bag-valve-mask, foreign body obstructions, and other cardiopulmonary emergencies. Students must pass a written and skills test in order to qualify for a BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card.


Citizen Heartsaver First Aid class:
Course Length: 3.5 to 4 hours

Cost: $20.00 per person

This course provides first responders with training in basic first aid procedures. This course covers first aid basics including medical emergencies, injury emergencies, and environmental emergencies. Students are required to pass a skills test in qualify for a Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion Card.
